New era for Black and Whites

The time of year has arrived where life is being dictated by the only thing that matters….football! The emotions, the flare, the spectacle that is UCD Superleague is back and AFC Silchester (new name for new times)  return more eager than ever to take home some silverwear.

Seasoned veterans of Silchester still grace the team while new players have been recruited to replace the retired. The transfer season has been good to Silchester with stong signing such as Eamonn ‘Ace’ Coleman who impressed during his two game loan last season. Strength  in depth was the name of the game this year so when Sichester found out Rory ‘Rocky’ O’Connor was interested, they simply could not refuse. With the second highest goal tally in the league during the 06/07 season (whereby Rory ‘The Hitman’ Toal notched up a personal tally of 37), Silchester thrive for more in front of goal so in an aim to break the eighty goal barrier, Silchester have called on the services of Ken ‘more than one a game’ Ajoku to aid Rory in the dissection of the opposing teams defense.

Last but not least, Silchester have made the change from Sunday Premier at 2pm for the earlier ( some say more challenging) Division 1 league at 11.30am, which spawned the Star Cup champions T-Logue Titans. With a dissappointing 12th place finish in  first year, a good 5th place finish in second year, what lies ahead for Silchester this year, the league? The Cup? Or could it be both? Only time time will tell so stay tuned for more stories and updates…..
